Jaelen Knox, a senior at Long Beach Poly High, won his qualifying heat in the 200 meters in a wind-legal 21.45 seconds and took third in his 100-meter preliminary race in a wind-aided 10.53 seconds at the CIF State Championships at Buchanan High's Veterans Memorial Stadium in Clovis, Calif. Knox just missed also advancing in the 4x400-meter relay after the Jackrabbits placed fourth in their heat in 3:22.28.
